FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Press Inquiries: Comms@Unify.US

Ten-year veteran of conservative criminal justice reform joins Unify to lead nationwide advocacy strategy.

Unify is proud to have named Patrick Plein as the organization’s new Vice President of Advocacy. In this executive role, Plein will oversee the design, direction, and execution of Unify’s comprehensive national and state-level advocacy strategies.

Plein joins Unify following a ten-year tenure at the CPAC Nolan Center for Justice, where he has served as Director over the past two years. Throughout a decade of work with the Nolan Center, Plein has focused on expanding the conservative base of support for public safety-focused justice reforms while developing deep, collaborative relationships with lawmakers in Congress and across numerous states.

Plein’s proven track record of navigating complex legislative environments and securing major policy victories are key factors in the appointment, noting that this experience will be vital to driving the organization’s mission forward.

During his time at the Nolan Center, Plein’s leadership helped the organization grow into one of the leading conservative voices engaged in criminal justice reform throughout the country. The team successfully spearheaded multiple state-level legislative reforms and was instrumental in securing the passage of the landmark federal First Step Act in 2019.

In transitioning to Unify, Plein intends to leverage this extensive background in legislative affairs and coalition-building to advance meaningful, safety-focused reforms on a national scale.
